In 2005 we are marking the centenary of the death of Dr Thomas Barnardo by celebrating the difference the charity continues to make to the lives of hundreds of thousands of children in the UK. Whilst we no longer run orphanages of Victorian times we do continue to protect, nurture and provide opportunities for children through 361 specialised projects in local communities across the UK.
