
AIM: To teach the skills and techniques required to skipper a yacht safely on coastal and offshore passages by day and night.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: You should have a good knowledge of navigation and meteorology and you should already be competent as a helmsman.
THE COURSE: The emphasis during the week is on decision making, skippering techniques, passage making, seamanship, good navigation and boathandling. This is a training week with an assessment of ability and potential.
DURATION OF COURSE: The course is run over five days living onboard the boat.

R.Y.A. / DoT:The R.Y.A. / DoT Coastal Skipper exam may be taken after this course (subject to satisfactory completion), should you require this certificate, please let the Principal know in advance.
ICC: This course equates to the I.C.C. for Power - Coastal and Inland (CEVNI Test Required)
